About Boyce’s Roofing & Repair

Jim Boyce, the founder of Boyce's Roofing & Repair, got into the roofing business by accident. He moved to California with the intent to go into the ministry full time. In 1986, he joined the staff of a church plant in Roseville. The lead pastor had worked his way through Bible school as a roofing estimator and suggested that Jim pursue that line of work to “pay the bills.” He went to work for a local roofing company as an estimator with the idea that he would be in it for no more than two years and then move into full time ministry.

That was 32 years ago, and Jim is still in roofing. He found that that he had a great deal of satisfaction with contracting work because it connected him to the community through the projects that he finished. Jim opened his own roofing company, Boyce's Roofing & Repair, in Oceanside, CA in 1992 as a way to put his mark on the city and to leave a legacy. While he spent decades involved in ministry and had many great experiences there, a full-time career never materialized. The company has endured and the relationships with customers, employees, and venders have always been amazing.
